ABCT convened national higher education experts – leaders of institutions, associations and state systems as well as researchers and policy-makers – in the summer of 2024 to design a comprehensive strategy to advance teaching excellence at scale. In 2025, the ABCT leadership council used the feedback from the convening to gain momentum and launch the strategy. In 2026, we will launch the ABCT coalition and the Better College Teaching Network (BCTN). 

The ABCT coalition will call on expertise from thought leaders, organization leaders, and institution leaders to refine, iterate, and scale the strategy. The BCTN will bring together institutions already on the cutting edge of scaling teaching excellence that will begin piloting the ABCT strategies in 2026.
